Sorry about being late with this post, I am currently experiencing an agrevation of one of my illnesses.
Maslow made a beautifully simple to understand concept of how human beings get along in the world. The point of his research was what was needed for a human being to make their way to the top of the pyramid.
Lets look at the base of the pyramid and consider what Maslow points out as our most basic needs. These needs are so great that if they are not met it would be close to impossible to progress to the next level of human fulfilment. Note that these things, such as the need for food, shelter, air, water, sleep, and sex, are REQUIRED by humans in order to just survive and perpetuate the species.
If we take a look around, we will note that a great many of us are heavily concerned with just getting these basic things, even in the so called "First World Economies". Why is that so important? Acording to Maslow each step up the pyramid requires mastery over the things in each segment of the pyramid, which pretty much means that in order to reach "Self Actualization" and all the things that come with it, we have to master everything under the apex of the pyramid!
Contemplate this concept and leave a comment if you wish. Next time, how we can "Automate" each section, one at a time in an orderly fashion and achieve the highest goal of self actualization.
